Baldwin Health Surgeon Willis Nichols, M.D., Named “Best of Baldwin” for General Surgery

This prestigious honor, determined by the votes of the Baldwin County community, recognizes Dr. Nichols for his clinical excellence, surgical expertise, and unwavering commitment to patient care.
As a board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Nichols has become a cornerstone of the Baldwin Health Medical Group. He is widely recognized for his proficiency in a broad spectrum of procedures, ranging from complex cancer surgeries and thyroid procedures to hernia repairs and gallbladder disease. Notably, Dr. Nichols is a leader in utilizing robotic-assisted and minimally invasive techniques, which allow for smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recovery times for his patients.

Dr. Nichols earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed his residency and internship at Spartanburg Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and has consistently earned high praise from the community for his thorough communication and the supportive environment he creates within his practice.
Beyond his professional accolades, Dr. Nichols is an active member of the local community. He resides in Orange Beach with his wife, Jennifer, and their two sons, where he enjoys fishing, gardening, and carpentry.
