Baldwin Health Encourages Community Participation in Alabama’s Rural Hospital Investment Tax Credit Program
6/22/2026
FOLEY, Ala. — Baldwin Health is proud to participate in Alabama’s Rural Hospital Investment Tax Credit Program, a new initiative designed to strengthen rural healthcare across the state while providing taxpayers with a unique opportunity to invest directly in the health and well-being of their communities.
The program allows eligible Alabama taxpayers to make qualifying contributions to approved rural hospitals and receive a dollar-for-dollar Alabama state tax credit, creating a meaningful way to support local healthcare while directing tax dollars back into the communities where they live and work.
“As healthcare continues to evolve, local support is more important than ever,” said Katie Spratlin, vice president of business development at Baldwin Health. “This program provides individuals and businesses with an opportunity to invest directly in the future of healthcare in Baldwin County while receiving a valuable state tax credit. It’s a win for taxpayers, a win for healthcare and a win for the communities we serve.”
Funds received through the program can help support hospital operations, patient care services, facility improvements, technology investments and other critical healthcare needs that strengthen access to care close to home.
The Rural Hospital Investment Tax Credit became available beginning in 2026 and provides qualifying taxpayers with a 100% state tax credit on approved contributions, subject to annual limits established by the state of Alabama. Individuals may qualify for credits up to $15,000, married couples filing jointly up to $30,000 and businesses may qualify for significantly larger credits depending on their tax structure and liability.
Baldwin Health encourages community members, business owners and local organizations to learn more about how they can participate and support healthcare services that impact friends, families, neighbors and future generations.
“Every contribution made through this program is an investment in local healthcare,” Katie added. “By choosing to direct eligible tax dollars toward healthcare, our community can help ensure continued access to quality care right here at home.”
