FOLEY, Ala. — November 13, 2025. Baldwin Health has been awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization that sets the standard for hospital safety, quality, and transparency. The honor places Baldwin Health among the safest hospitals in the nation for protecting patients from preventable harm, infections, and medical errors.
“Earning an ‘A’ from Leapfrog is a direct reflection of the dedication our team shows every day,” said Margaret Roley, chief executive officer of Baldwin Health. “This recognition belongs to every nurse, physician, technician, and staff member who works tirelessly to make our hospital a safe and healing place for our patients and community.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade evaluates hospitals on more than two dozen measures related to safety systems, error prevention, and quality improvement. Receiving an “A” signals to patients that Baldwin Health meets or exceeds the highest national standards for safety and accountability.
Karen Maxwell, chief quality officer at Baldwin Health, added, “Our mission has always been to create an environment where patients feel safe and cared for at every step of their healthcare journey. This grade is proof that our processes, training, and teamwork are delivering on that promise.”
For Baldwin County residents, the “A” grade is more than just a letter — it’s a reassurance that their community hospital is among the best in the country when it comes to patient safety and quality of care. It also reinforces Baldwin Health’s reputation as a healthcare leader and an employer committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is updated twice a year, assessing nearly 3,000 general hospitals nationwide. Full results and detailed information are available at www.HospitalSafetyGrade.org.
